Fire Protection System Assessment
In existing buildings the real gap is usually between what the drawings say and what is actually installed: systems added over time, spaces that changed use, or extensions where coverage was never updated. This assessment starts on site rather than on paper, and produces a clear picture of what is there, what works, and what needs attention.
What the service covers:
- A site survey of the installed systems: detection and alarm, sprinklers and water networks, pumps, smoke control and firefighting equipment.
- Comparing the existing condition with the approved drawings, the code requirements and the building's current use.
- Checking coverage and distribution: does the protection still reach every space after the alterations and extensions?
- Reviewing escape routes and compartmentation, including operational changes made to them.
- A findings report with issues ranked by severity, and a remediation plan with priorities and their impact on operations.
When you need it: when buying or leasing a facility, changing its use or extending it, before renewing an operating approval, or after comments from a regulator or an insurer.
If what you need is a review of systems that are not built yet, the right service is fire protection systems review; for the building as a whole, see fire safety review.
